A smuggler’s life can’t be easy. It’s a constant game of cat and mouse with border patrol to see who will come out on top. Both sides appear to be equally matched so far. In this game, supply truly equals demand, and if you are a smuggler you’ll probably try anything and everything you can to make a quick buck. The tool of choice these days seems to be cars and trucks because just about anyone can drive and it probably attracts less attention. Less attention unless you happen to work for the Border Patrol that is.

It’s a shame that the people who want what the smuggler is selling don’t think about the ramifications their purchasing actions might have, like cross-contamination, bringing in new diseases to foreign soil, or wild and exotic species that could potentially reek absolute havoc on an ecosystem. With cars getting bigger and having more storage these days, border patrol workers have their jobs cut out for them. Let’s take a look at some of the things people try to take over the borders.

I think “Chicken Fighting” has been around as long as Man has roamed the Earth. The so-called sport is banned in most of the world because of its brutality. But where there’s a will, there’s a way when people set their minds to it. Smuggling fighting chickens is one of those rare instances where items are smuggled to Mexico from the US. Bizarre but true. The Telegraph reported on a story about a citizen trying to do just that by stuffing his homegrown fighting chickens into nylon stockings for their trip into Mexico. He ran into a few problems getting them across the border because the chickens made too much noise and were discovered by Border Patrol.
